Hello everybody,
It’s Mental Health Awareness Week in the UK (12-19th May), and this year the theme is COMMUNITY, which just happens to be one of our speciality subjects.
And so the Shelf Help Club is supporting with a series of speedy lunchtime ‘lives’ with my favourite community leaders here on the platform.
For our fouth - and final - session I was joined by Salima Saxton, writer, actor, coach and one half of the duo.
Women are Mad is a feminist mental health platform with a podcast, a Substack and a community created as spaces for women to be able to laugh about, celebrate and learn from their previously unpopular feelings.
Have you found nourishing community as a grown-up? We’d love to know, so please share any insights/advice in the Comments…

ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK 2025
The Mental Health Foundation has been leading MHA Week since 2001.
They say: “We want to use this Mental Health Awareness Week to celebrate the power and importance of community.
“Being part of a safe, positive community is vital for our mental health and wellbeing. We thrive when we have strong connections with other people and supportive communities that remind us, we are not alone. Communities can provide a sense of belonging, safety, support in hard times, and give us a sense purpose.”
