Well done Toni! 🙌 By no means a small feat, but this is such a huge and inspiring win for your future self and for many others journey. So very proud of you 💛
Thanks for sharing your journey 🙏 😊 I lost my voice the day of our girls Christmas night out earlier in the month. I had one wine and drove home early leaving the girls to carry on partying. It was hard but the videos that followed of them singing in awful pubs and the subsequent tales of hangovers did leave me with that smug AF glow. It took some of them a whole week to recover! As hard working mum's in our 40's we don't often get the chance to get together and we get so excited and intoxicated! For once I was thankful I had been unwell because no doubt I would have my head down the loo that night and all day on the following Sunday 😳😳😅
Just joined Shelf Help today and this is the first thing I read! Great article! I've been sober for almost 11 years and it is hands down the hardest and most rewarding thing I have ever done! Congratulations on your sober year!
Toni you are SO flipping amazing and inspiring. WOW!!!!! I knew you were doing a year of going sober but I didn't know about the back story. So so so inspired xxxxxxxx
100% worth it! And well done on your sober efforts - including your first sober rave! (It's much harder when we've had so much fun *not* sober raving 😆) x
Honest and authentic, a great read as usual. I’m super, super proud of you too. Always x
Congratulations! I've been trying to go sober for years...maybe 2025 will be the one that sticks. Thank you for sharing. It helps! 😊
Maybe start with 3 months in 2025 and see how you feel after that… ? 💛

Thanks for all the support! So happy you escaped that hangover (and think of all the money/braincells saved!). Smug AF is a vibe :)
And a very long and expensive taxi home too! #smugaf
Love this hashtag!! #smugAF
Thanks for sharing and looking forward to reading your slog xx
‘Slog’ does make it sound a bit harder than it is! (But it also kind works). Happy new year to you 💛

Thank you. Our mess really is our message 🤪 💛💛💛
I am very excited for the slog too and this such a wonderful article - a real reminder as we set goals to go for the hard things. Xxx
Yes! Because not doing so means settling for things that make life hard in a different way. xx
Well done, it’s not easy but it’s definitely worth it ❤️.
