The podcast for word nerds is back! It's series #2 of The Bibliotherapists
8 of our favourite humans on Substack talk about the healing power of words
Hello everybody,
Once upon a time (last summer) two professional word nerds met on Substack and decided to launch a pop-up podcast highlighting the healing power of words, and celebrating the brilliant platform that brought us together.
As a journalling coach (Tanya) and a self-help evangelist (Toni) we both use books as healing tools, and we created The Bibliotherapists as a way to share our love of the written word (and have a valid reason to stalk our favourite writers).
We wanted to create something cosy, honest and expansive; a best friend chat meets your dream book club.
And we enjoyed the process of meeting Substack authors and book lovers and creating our aural love letter to reading and writing so much that we didn’t mind if nobody listened.
But you did listen. In your THOUSANDS (Series #1 is now at 33k downloads and counting).
So the pop-up is still popping… and we’re back with a second series.
And we’re so proud to share these 8 new episodes, with some absolute dream guests (and a jolly new jingle).
From bestselling authors to psychotherapists, journalists, counsellors and creative community builders, these conversations have filled our cup over the last few weeks.
And if you’re a book lover we hope they can fill your cup, too.
Bibliotherapy: The use of books for therapeutic purposes, to improve psychological well-being. Through the incorporation of carefully selected literary works, therapists can guide people in treatment on a journey of self-discovery.
Our second series starts next week, with a new episode dropping every Friday morning, featuring:
on memoir and motherhood
on visibility and midlife
on books as medicine
on feeling more and healing in community
on class, connection and storytelling
on building and serving a global community
on reading and writing through grief
on understanding the wisdom of our nervous systems
We talk about books, and life, and books on life, with people who love words as much as we do, and who really get that they can absolutely connect and heal us.
Thank you for listening, reading, and supporting so far, we're so excited to share this next chapter of The Bibliotherapists with you and we can’t wait for you to listen.
**The first episode with Clover Stroud drops next Friday 11th July.**
Please share with the people you love, let us know what you think, and - of course - what you are reading right now…

PS you’ll be able to listen to these podcast episodes on all the usual outlets but we’ll only be sharing the (lovely and lo-fi) video recordings here on Substack…
