A winter well-being workshop (+ 7 journal prompts to support your seasonal self-care)
Your invitation to get reflective AND get prepped to thrive in winter, with our kick off event for BOTM, Self-care for Winter
Hello everybody,
Self-care for Winter is our latest Book Club pick. It’s a ‘multimodality toolkit to maximise winter joy’ that can support you to thrive in the colder months, and features a host of seasonal self-care strategies that I can’t wait to share.
But before we dive in and start wintering together (🎯 Reading Targets start from today), I think its important to look at how we’ve approached this season before.
Most of us tend to dread winter, or at least some elements of it.
And being able to identify areas of challenge is the first step in being able to manage them like a boss.
This year, with the help of Suzy and her book, I want to support you to look forward to this season with ‘hopeful anticipation’.
Which looks like finding the joy, but also accepting there will be challenges, and honing some simple (and free!) practices to lean into these.
It’s not just about fine-tuning our senses to seek out the season’s beauty and ‘thinking positively’ about winter, we need a host of tangible supportive practices to help us tweak our pace and maintain our commitment to healthy habits.

In tonight’s online workshop I’ll be introducing the book and the importance of modifying our self-care as the seasons change.
We’ll use some of the reflective journalling prompts shared by Suzy throughout the book (and here at the end of the email) to audit your current self-care situation, and identify any challenges and focus areas.
We’ll learn about Suzy’s 3Cs approach - Curiosity, Compassion and Care - and we’ll start to explore her 7 Winter Well-being tools and how they could be applied to your own life.
This workshop will be suitable for anyone interested in looking at their seasonal self-care - whether you choose to read this book along with us or not - and you’ll leave looking forward to winter, with a host of ideas and strategies that you can start using in your life straight away, and to thrive throughout the long nights and darker days on their way.
Book Club members/subscribers will find tonight’s joining link and this week’s BOTM reading target in the Members Only section below. Non-members can join the fun by subscribing to the full Clubhouse experience and community using the buttons on this post or - new for this month and perfect for the commitment-phobes out there - by purchasing a one-off workshop ticket as a way to get a taster of what we do here in the Club.
I hope to see you on screen,
Toni 💛
PS Feel free to share the love and invite anyone in the house to join this workshop - this kind of stuff is important for everyone!
PPS London and Norwich we have a couple of IRL Self-care for Winter events coming up in the next month. Londoners, we’ll be at The Hearth in Queen’s Park, Thurs 28th November. Norfolkians, we’ll be at Norwich Yoga Central on Thursday 5th December. Ticket links for both available very soon…. (you can let me know by RSVP if you’re keen so I can hold tx for you).

ON SELF-CARE:
How do you feel about the term ‘self-care’?
What are your barriers to engaging in the kind of nourishment you’d prefer - is it time, energy, space, freedom, expense or does guilt interfere? Think about some ways to overcome these barriers.
